In addition it would be fab to try and identify the women who require referral to the perinatal team (as it stands now the only options for referral are to mh midwife or gp- it needs to say perinatal Mh team
Does the woman have personal history of psychosis, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar or previous perinatal psychosis?
Has the woman experienced a mental health illness which has been required treatment from the secondary care mental health service, including perinatal service previously.
Has the woman been admitted to a psychiatric facility/unit?
Those with a first degree relative with diagnosis of serious mental illness (smi) are at increased risk of perinatal illness

• Recent significant change in mental state or emergence of new symptoms • New thoughts or acts of violent self-harm
• New and persistent expressions of incompetency as a mother or
estrangement from the infant
